Howard Arundel | 1st Assistant Director

“Howard came into Zagreb at very short notice to run a package of additional photography involving complex action, new scenes with our principals and numerous pick-ups and inserts from pre-existing scenes. A task that involved very tricky scheduling, with availability of main cast being very limited and little or limited time to plan and coordinate stunt work and action scenes. The 6 days of shooting went exactly as smoothly as it should thanks mainly to Howard’s calmness under pressure and his precision in bringing together all the necessary components from a cast and crew already super busy with the next Block. On set he was well liked and respected by the entire team, not just for his experience and professionalism but also because he’s Howard and he just knows how to get on with all members of the unit, even though he was parachuted in to a tricky mission with a tight time line. Simply put he’s just very good at his job!”
Director, Bill Eagles

“I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work on Downton Abbey. It was a pleasure to work with you and congratulations for a very successful shoot. Your enthusiasm and energy in getting through the arduous schedule whilst keeping the atmosphere on set so upbeat was a triumph… I do hope we get the chance to work together again soon”.
Producer, Nigel Marchant

“I’ve worked with Howard since 2003 and he is just a top First. He leads the team well and is a great people person, but knows when to crank things up if needed. He’s a great scheduler with a fine eye for detail and will always have a plan when things don’t go to plan! I suppose I only really appreciate him when I don’t have him!”
Director, Brian Kelly

“As a producer you know that with Howard as your First you are in safe hands. He’s an expert scheduler and a great team player who is a joy to have around.”
Producer, Adam Kempton

“Howard is the First among equals, he has an appreciation of actors and understands what is difficult for them. He does the tough job sweetly.”
